Hospice Volunteer Training Course

CHANS Home Health Care Hospice Care Program is offering classes for individuals interested in becoming a Hospice Volunteer. The 10-week Hospice Volunteer Training Program will begin on March 4th and will be held from 4:00 - 7:00pm on Monday evenings at the CHANS Hospice Building located at 45 Baribeau Drive in Brunswick, ME.

This free training course prepareds individuals to deal compassionately and sensitively with end-of-life lissues in a volunteer capacity. The weekly training sessions will cover topics such as 'Introduction of the Hospice Philosophy', ethical issues, communication, spirituality, greif and loss, and other educational topics that will support the relationship between the volunteer, the person who is at end-of-life and the family.
