Help Us Help Others

Donate to the Operating Budget

Monetary donations to Hospice Volunteers Center for Grief and Loss in Mid Coast Maine in any amount support the organization’s efforts to provide free, supportive, unique, non-medical direct care assistance to individuals and families coping with end-of-life issues. Hospice Volunteers is a partner of CHANS home health care agency which provides medical services available through the hospice Medicare benefit. Hospice Volunteers also offers companionship, respite and bereavement support groups to families and crisis intervention to the community. Because it is a tax-exempt, non-profit organization, donations to Hospice Volunteers are fully deductible under the provisions of the Internal Revenue Code. In order to continue offering free bereavement groups and direct care services we very much depend on charitable contributions from individuals, towns and institutions. Here are some easy ways to give to the Hospice operating budget.

· Memorials to deceased individuals who received our services or who wish to support Hospice generally

· Annual Appeal

· United Way Donor Choice

· Estate and Planned Giving

· Gifts of stocks, annuities etc.

· Donations for an unspecified purpose (for our operating budget)

· Donations for a specific purpose (ie. to support Bereavement Program Services)

· Donate to the Hospice Memorial Garden by buying a granite memorial brick to commemorate a loved one who has passed away

To make a donation, a check payable to Hospice Volunteers may be sent to Hospice Volunteers, 45 Baribeau Drive, Brunswick, Maine 04011. If this is a memorial, please note the specific person’s name in the memo line of the check. If you would prefer to make a cash donation, please deliver to the above address.

Donate to the Redmond Resource Center Lending Library

The Hospice Volunteer Redmond Resource Center and lending library offers written material, books, magazines, audiotapes, videos, DVDs, Internet access and brochures that help our clients to find information and social service agencies in our area.  Hospice Volunteers trains volunteers and purchases materials for the lending library of the Center, with resource selections appropriate across the age continuum and focusing on issues of grief and bereavement.  Capable volunteers staff a reference desk to help people understand their options and make referrals to local, state, and national service organizations.  The general public is welcome to use these resources free of charge.

Currently, there is no budget for purchase of new materials for the library.  If this is an aspect of Hospice that appeals to you, please relate to it financially by donating a gift to the Hospice Library. Checks made payable to Hospice Volunteers with a note in the memo line specifying "Redmond Resource Center" will insure that your donation benefits the Hospice Library.  Please send the check to :
